The Heritage Society
The Heritage Society of Eastern Michigan University was established to recognize and thank alumni and friends who have created a lasting legacy at EMU through a bequest or planned gift. Through their generous support, these individuals take part in shaping the future of EMU while preserving its traditions and mission.
Membership is offered to alumni and friends who have made an estate provision for the EMU Foundation or a planned gift commitment. Gift commitments may include:
- A bequest in a will or living trust
- The designation of EMU as the beneficiary of a retirement plan
- A charitable gift annuity, current or deferred
- A charitable remainder trust
- A remainder-interest gift in a home, vacation home or farm
Members are provided a variety of benefits, including:
- Invitations to attend a special Heritage Society recognition event
- Invitations to special receptions and cultural and sporting events
- Special publications designed to keep members informed and involved
If you have made one of these commitments, you are eligible to become a member of the Heritage Society. To request membership information and our Planned Giving Information Packet, please contact Susan Rink, director of planned giving.
