Melonie and Michael Colaianne
Since their college years at EMU, Melonie and Mike Colaianne have been loyal and active alumni, giving generously of their time and personal resources.
Melonie is president of the Masco Corporation Foundation and also serves as Masco’s director of corporate affairs. Before joining Masco, Melonie was vice president and corporate secretary at Cranbrook Educational Community and, prior to that, served EMU as associate executive vice president and secretary to the Board of Regents.
Earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees (’83, ’94) from EMU’s College of Business, Melonie has continued to serve her alma mater as a former president of the EMU Alumni Association, inaugural president of the MBA Alumni chapter, and as a former chair and current emeritus member of the EMU Foundation Board of Trustees. She was recognized with the Alumni Achievement Award in 1999.
Mike’s higher education was also based in EMU’s College of Business. He currently serves as vice president of finance for Magna Drivetrain of America. Mike played football for EMU in the mid-70s.
The Colaiannes are members of EMU’s Heritage Society and have established the Colaianne Endowed Scholarship, which benefits incoming freshmen to EMU’s College of Business. Preference in awarding the scholarship is given to students from Wayne Memorial High School, from which Mike and Melonie both graduated.
